THE BIRTH CENTER
OUR TEAM
MARSHA GROSS APRN, CNM, MSN
Certified Nurse Midwife
Marsha has fifteen years of experience in obstetrical care. During her bachelor's program at Texas Tech University, Marsha saw the effects of patient empowerment through education and support while leading prenatal classes for teenage mothers. Upon graduation with her Bachelors in Nursing, she continued to care for women and their families as a registered nurse on labor & delivery, nursery, and postpartum units in Texas and Oklahoma. Marsha first saw midwives in action after a move to DFW brought her to work with a midwife group. These women impacted birth experiences in a way that spoke to Marsha's long held desire for patient empowerment - and she knew that her road was midwifery! Her midwifery training was completed at Frontier Nursing University where she obtained a Masters of Nursing degree. Marsha worked alongside obstetricians as a midwife for several years before opening Flourish. She enjoyed two births under the care of midwives - one at a birth center and one home birth. Marsha also loves spending time outdoors with her family, cooking, and hosting gatherings.

"My desire has always been to provide care and partnership with women through education and empowerment while serving the whole family. I am so honored to see this come to fruition at Flourish."
ABBIE FISHER APRN, CNM, MSN
Certified Nurse Midwife
Abbie comes to Flourish with fourteen years of birth experience, primarily in the out-of-hospital setting. She has always been passionate about advocating for women and families. Abbie holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech. She felt going back to school would allow her the ability to give more comprehensive and individualized care. Abbie believes in a woman’s innate ability to give birth and that birth can be healing and empowering. Her philosophy is that the best birth is an educated and informed birth and that every person has the right to birth the way they choose. Abbie was previously an attorney with a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Philosophy from Texas A&M. Abbie has 3 children, who were all born at home with midwives. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, their two goldendoodles and kitten.
